Staff Picks: On The Road With Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Since 2009, the ten-piece indie folk circus that is Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have shared songs of community, compassion and self-exploration with fans around the world.  The group’s live shows are as much of a collaboration with the audience as they are a performance, where frontman Alex Ebert routinely finds each and every opportunity to create an intimate connection with fans in attendance, or as Ebert refers to them,”our co-conspirators, our people.

The 2013 GRAMMY-award winning documentary Big Easy Express offered us a backstage pass as the band travelled the US by rail as a part of the Railroad Revival Tour alongside Mumford and Sons and Old Crow Medicine Show.  And last week, with the release of Live In No Particular Order: 2009-2014, the Magnetic Zeros family debuted their first official live album release with a selection of 21 of the group’s finest live cuts from 5 years of touring the world.

Check out the group’s performance on Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel, live from SXSW last Friday, then pick up Big Easy Express and Live In No Particular Order: 2009-2014 available now via BitTorrent Bundle and immerse yourself in the world of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

All proceeds from Live In No Particular Order: 2009-2014 sales go to Big Sun Foundation; a not-for-profit California Corporation dedicated to facilitating more sustainable and communal living throughout the world.
