In this edition of Staff Picks: African roots music with elements of flamenco, jazz and salsa. From an early age in his home country of Guinea, Djeli Moussa Diawara struck a deep connection with the kora, a traditional 21-stringed West African harp. With a career spanning more than thirty years, Diawara is considered one of the most legendary African korafolas.

Raised in a musical household, Diawara joined his first musical group at the age of eighteen, and was quickly identified as a virtuoso on the unique instrument. He recorded Yasimika, a historic album in African music culture, as a twenty-year old opening the door for touring and collaborative opportunities with world music icons Ali Farka Touré and Carlos Santana.

Diawara has brought his most recent LP, Yekeke: Live from Paris 2010 to BitTorrent Bundle. Fans can download the mp3 version of the album for free or enter their email to unlock the full-quality WAV masters of the album. Download the Bundle to add this incredible piece of world music to your collection.
